ITF trained 25million Nigerians in forty years – DG

The Industrial Training Fund says it has trained 25 million Nigerians in its forty nine year history.

Director General of the ITF Joseph Ari made this know when he Recieved the House of Representatives committee on Industry, Trade and Investment on an oversight visit to the fund.

Ari said this was made possible through the numerous skills acquisition programmes of the fund aimed at equipping Nigerians with skilled manpower.

While taking the legislators through the activities of the ITF, the Director General said one of the funds achievements was the recent presentation of the ITF smart phone which was made from locally sourced materials by the model skills training center, abuja.

He called on the legislators to support and hasten the process of the amendment of the ITF act.

In his Remark, Chairman House committee on Industry,Trade and Investment, Dr. Enitan Dolapo Badru said the legislators were impressed with the performance of the fund and would give it every form of legislative support to enhance it’s capacity.

The lawmakers were there after conducted round some industries in Jos, plateau state which they described as fascinating.
