EFCC secures over 1400 convictions in 2021– Uwujaren

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, says it has recorded over One Thousand Four Hundred convicted cases for the year 2021.

EFCC spokesperson, Mr Wilson Uwujaren who stated this in an interview with newsmen in Ilorin said that Sixty percent of the convicted cases were on cybercrime.

Mr Wilson Uwujaren who disclosed that the ages of people involved in cybercrime are between Twenty to Forty years, said that the commission has continued to sensitise young persons on the need to desist from criminal acts.

The EFCC spokesperson explained that the high record of cybercrime in the Country has given Nigeria a negative image in the international community.

Mr Uwujaren called on Parents, Teachers and Religious leaders to inculcate the right values in the younger generation for them to know that there is no short cut to success.
