Chogudo charges Kogi Assembly staff on productivity.

The Clerk of Kogi State House of Assembly, Alhaji Ahmed Chogudo, has promised to work in line with set principles of the Assembly Service Commission to improve productivity of Staff.

Alhaji Chogudo made the promise in Lokoja when he visited Members of the Kogi State House of Assembly Service Commission at the Assembly Complex.

In a statement signed and released by the Information Officer of the Kogi State House of Assembly Service Commission, Idowu Aliu, the Clerk said he would collaborate with Members of the Commission to strengthen the working relationship among staff and bridge any gap that has hitherto slowed down the operations of the workers.

He noted that as an intermediary between the Legislators and Commission Members, he would foster a cordial working relationship that would promote harmony and peaceful working environment for the good governance of the State.

According to him, he would consolidate on the qualities that earned him the new position and refrain from anything that would be counter productive in the course of discharging his duties.

He thanked Governor Yahaya Bello for his appointment as well as the Speaker of the House, Prince Matthew Kolawole, other
Lawmakers for their supportive roles and promised to justify the confidence reposed in him.

Earlier, Chairman of the Kogi State House of Assembly Service Commission, Alhaji Malik Andas explained that the Commission was set up as an umbrella body to facilitate the duties of supporting Staff to the Legislators.

The Commission, he noted , was also to train, supervise, direct and control the activities of Staff as they provide the needed technical support to the Lawmakers in the business of law making.

He said newly elected politicians from various constituencies have to master the act of law making, hence the need to equip the staff who are Civil Servants for effective service delivery.

He told the Clerk to work assiduously as a representative of the Assembly and the Commission, leaving no stone unturned in the improvement of workers welfare.

He described the workings of the Clerk as the mirror of the Assembly and stressed the need for him to work hard to bring to bear the desired changes.

The Chairman on behalf of the Commission Members congratulated the Clerk on the appointment and wished him success in his assignments.
