As Christians the world over are celebrating Easter, an important annual event in the Christendom, the Chairman of the Kogi State House of Assembly Service Commission, Alhaji Malik Andas wants adherents of the faith to take cue from the lifestyle of Jesus Christ and replicate same in their daily conduct.
Alhaji Malik gave the advice in his felicitation message to Christians as they commemorate the resurrection of the progenitor of the faith, Jesus Christ.
He emphasizes the need for them not to lose sight of the spiritual significances of Easter as they commemorate the season and remember to reach out to the sick, aged, the less privileged and destitute in the Society.
“Jesus exhibited an uncommon degree of love, compassion, selflessness and loved mankind unconditionally, pointing out that his life style of service should be emulated for the progress of the Society.”
“I urge all Christians to live in peace with their neighbours and be ever willing to help those in need. This is a good time for them to entreat God for an end to all forms of violence in the country”
“As the 2023 elections gather momentum, supplicate to God to give us credible and selfless Leaders that will work to improve the socio-economic life of the country, stem insecurity, saying if we commit to this, Nigeria will come out of its numerous challenges and perform better to the admiration of all.
Malik explains that Leadership is ordained by God. Let us pray that God in His infinite Mercy find favour in the leadership of our Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello to merit his ordination as the chosen President of Nigeria to stamp out all forms of insecurities and other negative tendencies militating against our progress and development as a country. We pray that the kind of favour God gave to David to merit his victory over Goliath will be replicated on GYB in the coming struggle for the Presidency of Nigeria.
I call for attitudinal change among the leaders and the led, urging all well meaning Nigerians to remain true to their calling and uphold virtues of dignity and honour capable of propelling the Nation to greater heights.
