2023: Kogi Speaker declares for Reps, promises quality representation

The Speaker, Kogi State House of Assembly, Prince Matthew Kolawole has promised to provide qualitative representation at the national Level.

The speaker made this known yesterday during his declaration of intent to contest the 2023 Kabba-Bunu Ijumu Federal Constituency seat under the platform of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Prince Kolawole who also hosted his annual Widows Empowerment Programme used the occasion to commend the 30 Ward Executives of the party at the federal constituency, urged them to continue to give their support for the overall success of the party in the area.

He said the need to provide quality representation motivated his decision to join the race, saying he has gathered enough experience as a two term Lawmaker.

“I have been in the House of Assembly for a couple of years now and it is my intention to run for Federal House of Representatives to representing the good people of Kabba-Bunu/Ijumu under APC come 2023.”

According to him, he has spent the last 7 years in providing skill acquisition for his Constituents with several Empowerment, noting that If given the mandate, he will use the position to do more to affect lives of the down trodden.

“While in the State House of Assembly, I have used my office to facilitate employment, we have facilitated projects to the Constituency, provision of boreholes, youth Empowerment, rural electrification, skill Acquisition and so on. If given the opportunity to represent my people, I intend to do more.”

He used the occasion to call the national leadership of the party and all delegates to rally round the presidential aspiration of Governor Yahaya Bello as he posse the requisite knowledge of managing the complex diversity of the country, pointing out that his experience in Kogi state will help him to reposition the country for the betterment of all.

On the Widows Empowerment Programme, the Speaker said it was organised in remeberance of his Late mother and wife.

Some of the beneficiaries, Akintoye Omolara and Olorunmola Elizabeth thanked Prince Kolawole for his continual gestures, prayed that God will bless him and pledged their support for him at all times.
