The Chairman, Kogi State House of Assembly Service Commission, Alhaji Andas Abdulmalik has asked Nigerians to look beyond themselves and make necessary sacrifice that could promote good neighborliness and societal progress.

Alhaji Andas who made the remark in Lokoja in his Sallah message to the people, called on adherents to continue to imbibe the virtues of humility, tolerance, understanding with one another.

The Chairman emphasizes the need for Muslims not to loose sight of the essence of the festival, but reflect on the sacrifice and humility of Prophet Ibrahim who in obedience to Allah was to sacrifice his son before divine intervention depicting his total submission to Allah and selflessness.

“Therefore, I am optimistic that the mirage of problems militating against the Nation ranging from insecurity, poor infrastructures, low standard of living, poverty etc could as well receive divine attention if the people come together and seek Allah’s intervention for an enduring change.”

The Chairman maintains that at a time where millions have become refugees in their own Country, there is no where to turn to but to Allah who gives peace ultimately, hence the need for the people to use this occasion to pray to Allah to take away the level of deprivation in the land, acts of banditry, terrorism, corruption and other attendant problems bedeviling our Country.

Alhaji Andas enjoins Muslims to give to the needy, poor and vulnerable among them as the current economic hardship requires that those who have support the less privileged with a view to bringing happiness, relief and comfort to them.

He on behalf of himself, Members and Staff of the Commission felicitates with His Excellency, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, the dynamic people oriented Governor of Kogi State, the entire loyal and committed GYB family, the Speaker, Rt. Hon, Prince Matthew Kolawole and Members of the State House of Assembly and the People of the State on this occasion, wishing everyone happy celebration.
