Relief for physical challenged Saratu as CPI, Lounge 1 donate wheelchair, cash

A non Governmental Organization, Challenged Parenthood Initiative CPI, in partnership with  Lounge 1 Hospitality Centre, have donated a wheelchair and the sum of fifty thousand naira only to Saratu Abdullahi, a cripple to ease her movement.

The Executive Director of CPI, Eunice Abimbola Agbogun and Hon. Paul Ukwenya, Managing Director, Lounge 1 presented the money and wheelchair to the girl at the premises of Lounge 1 on Wednesday in Lokoja

Speaking earlier the executive director of Challenged Parenthood Initiative, Eunice Agbogun narrated how she encounter Saratu crawling on the road under a very hot sun at Government House in Lokoja

“Despite wearing shoes and standing on my toes, the heat was unbearable, I then imagined what the girl was experiencing on daily basis to eke a living.”

” I felt challenged to do something to change her condition and carried out aggressive campaign using social media and other networks, and luckily the owner of Lounge 1, a leading entertainment outfit in Lokoja felt the same pain and agreed to collaborate with me”.

Agbogun disclosed further that CPI, has been in the forefront of providing succour for the vulnerable and those with critical condition to come back to their feet.

She said there are lot of people suffering from one thing or the other in our respective communities, and urged public spirited individuals, Government at all levels to rise up and support CPI to bring succour to them

She reminded that thousands of people with disabilities are blessed with technical capacity and they could contribute meaningfully to the development of the Country.

She said with the wheel chair and the token for her to start up a business, Miss saratu’s story would be changed for good

She called on the kogi state Government and corporate Organisations and individuals to come to the aid of a little lad down with brain tumor at the National Hospital Abuja.

According to her the state sick lad needs over Eighteen Million naira for surgery.

In a remark, the Managing Director of Lounge 1, Hon. Paul Ukwenya, promised to continue to impact on the lives of the people with disabilities.

He called on Nigerians to be of help to the less privileged in the society and commended CPI for her discovery which has brought a new lease of life to Saratu Abdullahi.

The MD described Miss Saratu a one example of many with disabilities that are begging for assistance, charged Nigerians from all walks of lives to be the agent of change by impacting the lives of the less privileged.

While promising to do more for the needy, Mr Ukwenya said no amount is too small to give, as by so doing the country will be free of vices.

The Chairman of NUJ , kogi Council, Comrade Momohjimoh Adeiza commended the CPI and Lounge 1 for bringing joy to the less privileged people in the society and urged them to continue with the good.

On her part ,the beneficiary, Miss Saratu Abdullahi, thanked the donors and pray God to help them in their own time of needs.

She promised to commence her tailoring apprenticeship to enable her realize her dream.
