Speaking earlier, the State Chairman of the Association, Mr Baba Opisa, took time to eulogise and applaud the Commissioner for his contribution to the health sector in the state since 2013.

The purpose of their visit, he added, was to congratulate the Commissioner on his recent appointment as the state Commissioner for Health.

He highlighted the non – availability of the Directorate of Medical Laboratory Services, implementation of 100% CONHESS for its members and employment of more Medical Laboratory Scientists in the public Health service.

Other issues raised by the Chairman that formed the basis for discussion, were inclusion of MLS in training programs organised by the state Ministry of Health, upward review of salaries of MLS that are not given the right entry point and quack practice among some hospitals.
