Kogi governorship: Women Group advocates power shift to Kogi West

Ahead of the All Progressives Congress governorship primary in Kogi State, a political pressure group, Kogi West women in Politics has advocated the zoning of the ticket to Kogi west

Speaking at a press conference in Lokoja today, the convener of the group, Mrs. Titi Omotola said he group’s position is for equity and fairness to all segments of the state.

Mrs Omotola explained that since Kogi East has occupied the position of governor for 16 years and Central would have held the same position for 8 years at the expiration of office of Governor Yahaya Bello, it is fair and natural for the position to rotate to West.

She said an equitable and fair power rotation arrangements would engender peaceful coexistence among numerous ethnic groups in the state and cautioned against marginalization of any part of the State.

The group called on the national leadership of the party and Governor Yahaya Bello to give favourable consideration to Kogi west and zone the ticket to the area.

The women are drawn from the 7 local government areas making Kogi west
