Slain TUC General Secretary, Lawal Ozigi buried amidst tears

The remains of the General Secretary of the trade Union Congress, Barrister Musa Lawal Ozigi killed in the Kaduna train bombing have been committed to mother earth on Friday in his hometown, Ogaminana, Kogi State

Thousands of sympathizers thronged the Ogaminana Central mosque where the Chief Imam of the area, Alhaji Nasir Yusuf led other Muslim faithfuls to perform the Janaza prayer for the deceased.

Speaking to news shortly after the burial at the residence of the deceased, the national president of Trade Union Congress, Comrade Quadri Olaleye called on
the Federal Government to take drastic steps in addressing the insecurity problem in the country.

Comrade Olaleye said the call has become imperative in view of the senseless killings of Nigerians by terrorists and bandits.

Comrade Olaleye said that President Buhari has an option of resigning if he is overwhelmed by the challenges of governance.

He noted that one of the reasons why Nigerians voted massively in 2015 for Buhari was to restore security, adding that seven years down the line the security situation has worsened

He appealed to President Muhammad Buhari to as a matter of urgency take proactive steps to address the security challenges across the nation.

The TUC President described the late Secretary General of the Union, Comrade Musa Lawal Ozigi as the engine room of the association, stressing that he would be greatly missed.

Kogi State Government in a message to the burial represented by the Head of Service, Hannah Odiyo condoled with the family of the deceased and assured of government support.

Dignitaries who attended the burial include the Kogi State Chairman of TUC, Comrade Ranti Matthew Ojo and other members of the Union
