Poor Academic Performance: Kogi Poly weeds 313 Students

….Board approves first semester results for 2022/2023 academic session

 

 

Kogi State Polytechnic , Lokoja , has withdrawn 313 of its students for poor academic performance.

Mrs Uredo Omale, Head, Public Relations and Protocol Unit of Polytechnic disclosed the withdrawal of the students on Friday in a statement in Lokoja.

According to her, the dismissed students performed below expectations in the first semester of 2022/2023 academic session.

She said the affected students were from from 17 departments and 28 programmes.

She stated that the decision to withdraw the students followed the “consideration of the report of the Academic Board Central Result Verification Committee at the meeting of the Board held on 22nd June, 2023 at the 200 Twin Lecture Theater, Main Campus, Lokoja.”

The board Chairman who is also the Rector of the polytechnic, Dr. Salisu Ogbo Usman, said the decision was part of the resolve to maintain high academic standard and breed worthy academic ambassadors.

He thanked other members of the Central Result Verification Committee and the entire members of the Academic Board for their continued support and sustenance of academic standard.

He charged Deans of Schools and Heads of Departments and Units to provide dependable leadership at all times.

He, however, charged students to make adequate use of the available facilities for learning, just as he charged them to be law abiding and shun all social vices within and outside the Campus.
