The national president of Radio, Television and Theatre Art Workers Union, Comrade Kabir Garba Tsanni has condemned the gruesome murder of Obiahu Chukwu, a principal engineer with NTA, Okene,
Comrade Tsanni made the remarks while reacting to the brutal murder of the engineering staff of NTA whose sad death occurred while returning home after the close work.
He said the death of Chukwu has brought to the fore the unsafe environment in which media workers operate in Nigeria.
The Union leader called on the police to leave no stone unturned in their search for the killers of the late NTA staff.
He condoled with the management,staff of the Nigeria Television Authority and immediate family of the deceased over the unfortunate incident.
Similarly, the Kogi state SAC of the Union has paid condolence visit on the management of NTA Lokoja over the murder of Mr Obiahu Chukwu.
Speaking during the visit the state chairperson of RATTAWU, Comrade Habibat Umar Ibrahim described the death of Mr Obiahu Chukwu as painful.
She said the state council of the Union received the news of the murder of one its member with rude shock and called on security agencies to unravel the circumstances surrounding the death of Mr Obiahu.
Comrade Habibat commiserated with the family of the deceased and his colleagues who would also miss him dearly.
Responding, the General Manager of NTA, Lokoja, Alh. Abdulrashid Ibrahim thanked the union officials for the visit.
He called for reorientation to change the negative attitudes of some Nigerians who place no premium on human lives.
