A group known as Bliss Foundation has called on professor Stephen Ikani Ocheni to take a shot at the forthcoming kogi state Governorship election.
The Bliss Foundation made the call on Wednesday at a press conference held at the NUJ Press Centre Lokoja, to appeal to Prof. Stephen Ikani Ocheni, the Omachi Attah Igala to contest the 2023 Kogi State governorship election.
In his address the leader of the group Enejo Kennie Enejo PhD, said Prof. Ocheni who is the immediate past Minister of State in the ministry of Labour, possessed the capacity and experience to take the State to the desired destination.
He pointed out that the antecedents of professor Ocheni which cut across public service and academic have prepared him to lead Kogi state to prosperity.
The group described Prof. Ocheni as one with impeccable record, requisite experience knowledge and robust public service records which will enable him to fastract even development of the State, if elected as governor in 2023.
The group said it has become incumbent on the foundation to drag Prof. Ocheni to join the race for Kogi Governorship because of his enormous extra ordinary intellectual and leadership qualities .
He said the group, after its due diligence came to a conclusion that, based on wealth of experience, of the former minister, he would harness the human and natural resources of the state for the benefit of all if elected governor.
Professor Ocheni hails from Uwowo village in Igalamela/Odolu Local Government Area of Kogi State, an immediate past Minister of state for labour and Employment.
Professor Ocheni holds ND/ HND , MBA and PHD in Financial Management and has taught at Kogi state University Anyigba, now Prince Abubakar Audu University, and a retired Director with Federal Civil Service.
