Kogi Assembly Service Chairman charges new Clerk on efficient service delivery

The Chairman, Kogi State House of Assembly Service Commission, Alhaji Andas Malik has emphasized the need for the restructuring of facilities at the Assembly for optimal results

Alhaji Andas made this remark when he and some members of the Commission called at the Office of the Clerk of the Assembly, Alhaji Chogudo Ahmed to felicitate with him on his new appointment.

Alhaji Andas who expressed delight over the appointment, commended Governor Yahaya Bello for giving the Commission the atmosphere for discharging its responsibility which resulted in the appointment of the new Clerk of the House.

He told the Assembly Clerk that the onus now lies on him to reorganize the Assembly and effect structural changes that could bring about positive impact in the lives of the Staff.

The Chairman described the appointment of the Clerk as a round peg in a round hole, saying the changes carried out in the Clerk’s office upon assumption of Office was justifiable, indicating that the decision made by the Commission by appointing him was not misplaced as his disposition has shown that he was prepared for the assignment given to him.

Alhaji Andas praised the Speaker, Prince Matthew Kolawole and Members for their cooperation and understanding and enjoined the Clerk to work to bridge any gap that could hamper the smooth running of the Assembly.

In a remark, a Member of the Commission, Honourable Arome Adaji extolled the qualities of the Clerk of the House and urged him to put in his best to justify the confidence reposed in him.

Also in her comment, the Secretary of the Commission, Comrade Yemisi Olorunmaiye advised the Clerk to work closely with the leadership of the House to actualise tangible projects for the Assembly and Commission as well as give serious attention to Staff welfare.

The Clerk, in his response assured the Members of the Commission of his readiness to work to bring about enduring results they would be proud of.

He told the visiting commission members of his plans to change the scope of operations in the entire Assembly for higher productivity.

He thanked the Commission for considering him worthy of the assignment and promised to work to justify his appointment.

The Deputy Clerk of the House, Alhaji Ndagi Alfa and Director, Finance and Administration, Mr. Martins Enimola were present during the visit.
