Work hard to secure your future, Kogi Assembly Commission Chairman admonishes youths

Youths in Kogi State have been advised to continue to channel their energy into ventures that could earn them a better future.

Chairman, Kogi State House of Assembly Service Commission, Alhaji Andas Malik gave the advice when the Chairman of Kogi Youth Development Commission, Mr. James Lawal Ozomata paid him a visit in his office in Lokoja.

Alhaji Andas who described youths as very important segment of the society, said no responsive government could afford to ignore their contributions in the socio- economy development of the country given their productive strength.

He said any government that toils with this category of people stands the risk of putting the entire society in jeopardy, which is why Governor Yahaya Bello deserves commendation for deeming it fit to constitute a Commission to see to the coordination and well-being of youths in the State.

He challenged the leadership of the Commission to work hard to actualise the purpose for which the body was constituted and leave a mark of legacy for posterity.

Alhaji Andas promised that the Assembly Commission would be ready at all times to avail them with useful ideas and counsels that would help them serve in line with the mandate given to them.

He identified patience, diligence and hard work as some virtues that could distinguish them in their given assignments and urged them to work closely with experienced people that could avail them with knowledge to excel.

A Member of the Assembly Service Commission, Honorable Arome Adaji emphasized the need for the Youth Commission to collaborate with relevant agencies to actualise set goals.

The Secretary of the Commission, Comrade Yemisi Olorunmaiye in a remark enjoined the Youth Commission Chairman not to be deterred in his quest to achieve success but rather embrace every challenges that might confront him in the cause of his assignment, assuring that in a short while, those challenges will earn him great results.

The Kogi Youth Development Commission Chairman, Mr. James Lawal Ozomata said he was on a familiariazation visit to the Assembly Service Commission and to seek knowledge on how to move the Youth Commission forward.

He explained efforts so far made by the Commission in coordinating the Youth, its current challenges and solicited necessary support for possible results.
